The state of Washington is beautiful – lush and green (from all the rain!)
We just left Washington after spending 16 days there. We attended a Winnebago rally in Cashmere, WA. These rallies are really fun getting to meet other RV’ers from all over. Lots of valuable tips, workshops, good food and fun.
Plus we were able to hold a well-attended workshop on weight loss and healthy eating! It’s great to be able to pick up new clients as we travel.

Leavenworth, WA
Visited a cute German town called Leavenworth, where we had so much fun.
Then off to Anacortes and took a ferry to Friday harbor on San Juan Island. Weather couldn’t have been better! Friday Harbor was a bit disappointing. Balboa Island in California and Mackinaw Island in Michigan are more charming.
We camped in Birch Bay, WA one block from the ocean with beautiful sunsets, and ventured to the northwest tip of Washington where we could see Canada across the Bay. We could also see Point Roberts – it’s part of Washington, but can only be visited by boat, or by driving through Canada. Pretty interesting. Read about Point Roberts here.
We suddenly realized marijuana is legal here! No wonder everyone drives slow and has a smile on their face. We saw one pot shop right across the road from the water. They must make pretty good money to have such a great location. There was also a food truck in the parking lot – perfect for customers who get the munchies! LOL.
We went to Vancouver for a day where the Canadian border patrol hassled me. I was a little too mouthy. Haha. FYI: when the border patrol asks if you have any defensive weapons, don’t answer “no, but I think everyone should have them.”

View of Canada and Point Roberts
Next was Snoqualomie. BEAUTIFUL! We just picked a church to go to and lo and behold our good friend Mark Carlson is a pastor there. We had a great visit with Mark.
We arrived in Seattle and had a really good time at the Space Needle and a local festival. We even got a parking ticket. Waah!
We were ready to leave Seattle and noticed a terrible sound in the RV engine. Google to the rescue and found a Cummins Engine facility in Renton. It was a bummer. Had to stay in a hotel and find things to do with dogs in tow. The RV was 2 days in the shop to the tune of $3,000 (manifold problem). But the good news: WARRANTY COVERED. Praise the Lord!
We are now in Oregon to see the coast and then visit family in Eugene. Next Yellowstone!
Happy Trails
