We finally slowed down and parked ourselves in Fort Lauderdale for a month – and what a month it was!
First, the Resort we booked was amazing – the best we’ve stayed at. It’s owned by French Canadians, and the vast majority of the people staying here were from Quebec and spoke French. We had to find the English-speaking group when we went to the reception our first night!

Our outside living space.

At the evening reception – there were great bands every week.
Jeff’s work was really picking up as election season began, but we still took some time to have fun.
Our friends Carl & Jan flew in and joined us for a week again. It was so much fun having them visit. We did a bit of sightseeing. First stop was Miami Beach!
Miami Beach
Ocean Boulevard in South Beach was really something to see. There was a Food Network food and wine festival going on. Price of admission was $250 per person though, so we walked on by.

Fort Lauderdale Beach
We also headed to the beach in Fort Lauderdale not realizing it was the beginning of Spring Break! College students were flocking into town.
Lakeland
We got to visit cousins again. Here are some pics from cousin Tim’s house.

Dinner with Melissa, Tim, John, & Louise.

Cathy with Cousins Tim, Louise and Stephen.

Beautiful pool and back yard.
Montverde
After we left Lakeland, we made a swing through Monteverde to see Jeff’s high school friend Jim. Had a great evening with Jim and Laura.
