We pulled out of Clearwater today after a great week.  Clearwater is a city in Florida’s Tampa Bay area known for sunny weather and gulf coast beaches. One of the beaches – Clearwater Beach is really beautiful.  It’s on a barrier island and is a 3-mile stretch of white sand with many hotels and restaurants along the road.

We even saw a mermaid on the beach.

The annual Sugar Sand Festival kicked off while we were there.  It’s a week-long series of free beach concerts, fireworks, vendors and the marquee event – sand castles.  This year, the theme was music and musicians, and the sculptures were amazing.
