We had originally planned to head to Arizona this winter, but had such a good time in Florida last year that we decided to return again. Our first stop was in the town of Wildwood, Florida. We stayed in a nice campground, Three Flags RV Campground, which is part of the Thousand Trails system.
We ventured over to The Villages for an evening and had a lot of fun. The Villages has been described as Disneyland for Seniors. It was a fun atmosphere with live music in the town square – and golf carts everywhere! At first, everyone was just sitting around enjoying the evening, but by the time the band started, Happy Hour was in full swing and the crowd was dancing up a storm.
We moved to Orlando and settled into the Orlando RV Resort for 10 days. Zack flew out for Thanksgiving, and we all headed down to Lakeland to see the cousins. It was a great family time, and a definite feast!
Fort Myers Beach
The next stop on our Florida tour was Fort Myers Beach. We found a wonderful RV Resort (Gulf Waters), and were able to visit cousins John & Nikki.
Donny & Marie
We made our way to Fort Lauderdale to see Donny & Marie in concert. We caught their show when we were in Las Vegas last year, and it was great. In fact, they’re one of the top acts in Vegas. This Christmas Concert did not disappoint.
Sarasota & the American Coach Christmas Rally
RV groups hold rallies throughout the year. We attended several Winnebago Rallies last year and had a blast making new friends. Since our new RV is an American Coach, we joined the American Coach Association and attended the Southeast Christmas Rally in Sarasota. What a fun time!
The rally was held at the Sun N Fun RV Resort. It was a huge park with a ton of amenities. We can’t believe that we didn’t take any pictures the entire time we were there! Here’s a short video of the band that played at the closing night banquet.
Our home for the Holidays, Miami Everglades RV Resort. While we missed family, it was nice to kick back, stress free this Christmas.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! We found this tree, complete with ornaments and lights at a local flea market for $7! What a deal!
Christmas day…when what to our wondering eyes did appear…
Meet the newest member of the Evans’ family – Mandy. She’s the cutest thing. Just two pounds at 10 weeks old.
Muffy isn’t so sure about her, but we adore her.
Happy New Year
This pretty much wraps up our adventures for 2016:
- 21 States
- 45 RV Resorts
- 11,784 miles
Looking forward to more travel in the new year as we explore Texas, New Mexico and the West before we head back to California for a bit.
Wishing you and yours a very Happy New Year!
